
Marla has done extensive public speaking, workshops, and trainings:
- Has taught as adjunct faculty at the Graduate School of Social Work at Wayne State University
- She spoke at HFHS Conference on
"Caring for Caregiver" in relation to Alzheimer's disease, in
conjunction with Carl Hammerschlag MD, who spoke on "Life Stories".
- Presented at Bon Secours Symposium, on
"Juggling Life's Changes and Challenges" in conjunction with Dr. Sonya
Friedman.
- "Spirituality and the Health Care
Professional" presentation to IV Nurses of Michigan.
- Facilitated "Sensitivity Training" for
HFHS Leadership and Physicians.
- Facilitated workshops at Senior Expo
on "Joys of Aging","Get Older, Get Happier", and "Caring for your Aging
Parent-The Sandwich Generation"
- Facilitated workshop "Building Healthy
Relationships in the Workplace and Spirituality and the Healthcare

Alzheimer's Association, for six years, for caregivers of Alzheimer's
patient.
- Marla facilitated support
groups for those suffering from Peri-Natal Loss and divorce.
- Marla also facilitated a weekly
support group for those suffering from Post-Partum Depression, for The
Tree of Hope Foundation. Marla is currently co-authoring a book with
Cheryl Ruble, MD.
- Post partum Depression
group at Henry Ford Cottage Hospital in
Grosse Pointe farms, every Monday at 10am, group is free.
- Writing is one of Marla's passions and
she is also working on publishing her own writing.
- Marla presented on Emotional and
Psychological Development to the Graduate Women's Health Nurse
Practioner and Nurse Midwifery students at Wayne State University
College of Nursing in March 2008.
